Nursing and Midwifery Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Curriculum Framework

Curriculum development

Project Overview

Following the release of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Curriculum Framework by the Australian Government Department of Health in 2014, CATSINaM undertook a process to adapt the framework specifically for nursing and midwifery.

The resulting Nursing and Midwifery Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Curriculum Framework is an adaption of and a complementary document to the 2014 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Curriculum Framework.

Universities delivering pre-registration courses for nursing and midwifery are encouraged to use the Nursing and Midwifery Framework to review how their courses meet and/or exceed accreditation and registration guidelines for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and cultural safety.
