Project Overview
LINMEN offers a range of mentoring support strategies for nursing and midwifery educators, education providers and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, nurses and midwives to:
- become and effective mentor for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students and staff; and/or
- participant in peer-to-peer mentoring with other nursing and midwifery educators.
To do this, LINMEN offers an annual two-day training workshop for members interested in learning the relevant skills to become an effective mentor and assist Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander staff and students to address additional challenges in the workplace and learning environment such as racism and cultural safety.
Details of the workshop will be posted on the LINMEN website.
LINMEN can also facilitate:
- mentoring on an organisational basis at the request of, and with the support of education providers, health departments or health services.
- mentoring for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through the CATSINaM mentoring program.
